The Beatles

The Beatles are thought by millions of people as the greatest band of all time. The beatles started in Liverpool in 1960; they consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. The early Beatles year their music was much more classic 50's style music derived from influences such as Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry. Their arival in the U.S. was huge its estimated that three thousand people greated them and JFK international airport. The Beatles first album in America one point had 12 spots on the billboards top one hundred chart including all of the top five songs. Though the Beatles started out very clean cut and pure looking they started to shake things up soon after. They stated how Bob Dylan was the first to introduce them to Marijuana, and this changed their music making it more about issues which were currently hurting the world, such as hate, war, and injustice. The beatles admitted publicly that they had droped LSD four times and this started showing in their music by experimenting with more psychodelic music such as "I am the Walrus". In all the Beatles influence is still felt today with new technologies such as Rock Band, which just introduced a Beatles Rock Band; which may help spread their music to another generation.
In my personal opinion the Beatles are the greatest band of all time. I really emphasize this because the amount they have influenced other great bands of now and even bands in the 70's 80's and 90's. The Broad range of music covered by the Beatles is amazing they could put on a rock song such as Come Together" and still have the deapest meaning to it trying to unite the world in peace. The beatles sent the message which was and admirable one Peace, Love and Happiness. These are the reason i believe that the Beatles are one of the greatest bands of all time
